Create a one-of-a-kind vanity surface coordinated with your tile, cabinetry, fixtures, hardware, and lighting. FlowStone can transform a suitable existing vanity or create a new surface for your bathroom, powder room, or laundry area.

A Custom Surface for One of the Most-Used Rooms in Your Home

A vanity is smaller than a kitchen countertop and it carries more weight than its size suggests. It sits directly beside the tile, the cabinetry, the mirror, the faucets, the lighting, and the hardware. Everything is within arm's reach of everything else, so a color that is almost right reads as wrong.

FlowStone develops the surface in the room where it will live. You review a physical sample beside the actual finishes, under the actual light, before approving the final design.

Best for: Homeowners updating a bathroom, powder room, or laundry surface who want a custom result designed around the existing room.

A vanity can also be a practical first FlowStone project for homeowners considering a larger kitchen transformation later.

    Who This Service Is For

    • Homeowners updating a bathroom without taking on a complete remodel
    • Powder rooms where a distinctive vanity can become the focal point
    • Single or double vanities with suitable existing substrates
    • Bathroom remodels involving a new vanity cabinet or countertop
    • Suitable laundry counters that need a more coordinated surface
    • Homeowners who want a smaller first project before considering a kitchen

    What Problem It Solves

    • A dated vanity that makes the whole bathroom feel unfinished
    • A countertop that clashes with the tile, cabinetry, or fixtures
    • Limited control when choosing from prefabricated vanity-top patterns
    • An unusual vanity size that standard tops do not fit well
    • The cost and disruption of replacing a sound existing surface unnecessarily
    • Uncertainty about approving a handcrafted design without seeing it first

The Right Approach Depends on the Existing Surface

Resurface a suitable vanity. When the current top is firmly bonded, dry, structurally stable, and compatible with the coating system, we may be able to transform it in place.

Create a new vanity top. When the existing surface has water damage, the cabinet or layout is changing, or the top is otherwise unsuitable for resurfacing, a new substrate may be the better foundation. That surface may be handcrafted off-site and installed after curing.

We evaluate the substrate, sink configuration, faucet openings, backsplash transitions, plumbing conditions, access, and any visible moisture damage before recommending either approach. Photographs narrow it down. They do not settle it.

Is Your Vanity a Good Candidate?

    Potentially suitable

    • Firmly bonded vanity surfaces in stable condition
    • Dry substrates without swelling, deterioration, or movement
    • Bathrooms with finalized sink, faucet, and fixture locations
    • Single and double vanities with accessible edges and transitions
    • New substrates prepared for the approved coating system
    • Suitable laundry counters in dry, stable condition

    May require repair or replacement

    • Active or unresolved plumbing leaks
    • Swelling, deterioration, rot, or other water damage
    • Loose materials, failed seams, or visible movement
    • Substrates that cannot provide dependable adhesion
    • Sink, faucet, edge, or backsplash conditions that cannot be integrated properly
    • Plumbing or fixture locations that have not been finalized

Suitability is reviewed through photographs and confirmed during an on-site assessment.

Designed Around Your Tile, Cabinetry, and Fixtures

    • A custom base color, movement, veining, and finish
    • A design coordinated with tile, cabinetry, faucets, hardware, mirrors, and lighting
    • A physical sample reviewed in the bathroom before approval
    • Carefully detailed sink openings, faucet penetrations, edges, and backsplash transitions
    • A suitable existing vanity resurfaced in place when appropriate
    • A new vanity substrate fabricated when replacement is the better approach
    • On-site pouring or off-site fabrication depending on what the project requires

A Small Surface With Meaningful Design Impact

The scale of a vanity changes how movement and veining should be designed. We adjust the pattern to suit the surface rather than shrinking a kitchen-sized design onto a smaller top. A vein that reads as elegant across eight feet of counter can look like a crack across three.

Quiet mineral movement. A restrained surface that supports detailed tile or cabinetry instead of competing with it.

Defined veining. A stronger focal point for a simpler bathroom, where the vanity is the only place anything is happening.

Warm coordination. Colors developed around wood cabinetry, warm metals, and natural tile.

Cool coordination. Colors designed around white, gray, blue, chrome, or brushed-nickel finishes.

Sink relationship. Transitions planned around vessel, drop-in, or undermount sinks when technically appropriate.

Backsplash relationship. Coordinated with the existing wall finish, or incorporated into the project when appropriate.

You review the physical sample beside your actual tile, cabinetry, fixtures, and lighting before approving the design.

Off-site fabrication. Some vanity surfaces can be fabricated and poured off-site, cured under controlled conditions, and then installed in approximately half a day. Which method fits depends on the vanity size, substrate, sink, backsplash, access, and plumbing conditions.

    Frequently asked questions

Yes. A vanity is a smaller surface that still takes you through the whole process: design consultation, physical sample, preparation, pouring or fabrication, finishing, and care. If you are weighing a kitchen project later, this is a low-commitment way to see how the process and the result actually feel in your own house.Custom-poured kitchen countertops
